Busy busy.

Sun Oct 18, 2009, 12:51 PM
Again it has been a few months since i last updated this portal, but again i have been somewhat busy with verious work related projects.

The Tiger Tiger Catalogue that i was working on has finally been completed and printed in China, and a copy sits in my office at home. The JK catalogue is being sent from China this week, so i am hoping to get a copy of that 80 page document. I will add a few pictures on here when I get it, as well as some sample spreads.

Along with this i have just finished a complete exhibition project for Tiger Tiger, including the stand, show real, promotional leaflets and other promotions. It seems to have been very well recieved at the Anuga food show in Calone.

Freelance work has been quiet of late due to working hard in my full time design studio (see above lol), however as of November the 2nd I will be changing company's. I will be working for a new company called CDA [link] where i will be working on there catalogues and promotional material. I am looking forward to working in a new studio and seeing how they work. Its a good oppitunity for me, and hopefully i will be taking a lot from this new position.

Then I am looking towards taking an MA in Graphic Design as my aims are to teach this subject to others and help them move on to the next stage as there is still a large gape between profecinal pratice and graduates.

And so people that's the latest updates for now, hopefully in the next few days or weeks I will add some more work for you all to see.

New Artwork added

Tue Feb 17, 2009, 5:32 PM
Well it has been a very long time, but I have been far from ideal, rather quite the oppicet. I have added a few of the pieces of design work I have been doing of late to here.

I have added a range of work, mostly packaging design, as it seems I am doing more of that at the moment, though I am still doing a lot of print work and advertising work, esp for Tiger Tiger at the moment (50 promotional sale sheets have just been finished, I am doing two of there catalogues, one which people will be able to print direct from there website), another 2 catalogues for JK foods and a few exhibitions for Tiger Tiger.

I have been busy, but for now I have put up a range of freelance work and corporate work I have been doing.

Some of you may have noticed I have started to clean this up somewhat, mainly because I am using the gallery as my on line portfolio, until I get a website set up properly, so a lot of the Satanic Angel stuff will be put in to the scraps, as I need to start asking this look more profecinal. Although at the time it got me my first job, I now have stronger pieces to use.

And so I will continue clearign out my gallery, until then, and until my next lot of submitions

Keep well.

Xistenz logo

Fri Jun 6, 2008, 4:16 PM
I have added another piece of work, this is some what older, it is the logo for the company Xistenz human statue.

Again this was created in adobe illustrator, and it is inspired by both mine and the client favourite designer, Dave McKean.

The logo has tried to retain a classical feel to it, but still be quite modern, i think I have managed to do this, as did the client.

Including the logo design, I also designed and colourised the clients myspace page [link] created wheel arches for her company car and created a couple of post cards using images taken by the photographer Claudine Sinnett [link]

All in all its been quite a rewarding project. Next thing to tackel will be her website.

Tiger Tiger Recipe Labels

Thu Jun 5, 2008, 4:42 PM
Its that time again for more work to be featured on my little portal of design. This week I have put up some work for the food company Tiger Tiger, one of the company’s I work for on a daily bases. Most of what I do is rather mundane, such as image editing, photography, and generic adds, but occasionally I do get to do some of the more interesting design work.

The Tiger Tiger Recipe label set, for example, has been designed for the US market. They have both been designed in Adobe Illustrator as our boss wanted to use a vector design within the work. Each background has been created using vectors. The Oriental label was created using the pen tool. I drew around images, then tinted them, re tinted until I managed to get this lovely light brown, that not only complements the front panel colour, but to also helps bring the products off the page.

For the Thai labels I used adobe illustrator CS3’s trace function as the design had to be completed very quickly to meet the deadline.

The labels are currently being printed ready to be attached to the jars any time soon, so all my American followers can own a piece of my design by getting one of these products J

And its time for bed

Tue Apr 1, 2008, 11:52 AM
Well as some of you might remember, many moos ago, i helped creat the 5th issue of Empty Playground, and underground music publication. Well, the 6th issue has been published.

This is a limited edition magazine, 64 pages, full colour A5 magazine, that apart from the front cover has been completely designed by myself.

I will add a couple of sample spreads for people to see what they look like.

But if you would liek to bite the bulet and buy a copy for only £2 and view the work as it is intended to be viewed, you can buy it from the following locations
